Inpatient Treatment Center
An inpatient treatment center will offer a facility where an individual will live for the entire length of a program.  A program is for a person who is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is need of long term treatment.  The length of treatment can vary from one month up to three years.  The length of the treatment depends on the facility.  More changes are usually produced in a long term treatment center, which will provide a much more comprehensive and challenging programs.  All of this combined will usually produce a higher success rate.  In order to help someone to overcome their problems with addiction and substance abuse, the treatment center must focus on physical and emotional problems, as well as emotional and spiritual problems. Not many addicts want to go into an inpatient treatment center, but find that it is necessary for them to be in this type of facility. Long term inpatient treatment is the most intensive form of treatment.  Things like offering a foundation of structure and support are found in these types of programs, which will, in turn, offer a stronger chance of staying clean and sober in the future.  There are always rules to follow, whether the facility is a ranch, apartments, or old hotels.  But it does give the individual a stronger foundation in which to live by.  In many cases, a short term inpatient treatment center will not be enough to help those that face on going addictions to drugs such as heroin, cocaine, other opiates, methamphetamine and prescription drugs, as well as alcohol.

In most inpatient treatment programs, an extensive evaluation and assessment will be done before the individual is admitted into the facility.  This is done to determine medical history, health problems and the severity of the addiction. Also, the amounts of the drugs being used may play a part in if the person may be in immediate need of a medical detox before entering into a program.  If medical detox is needed, the individual will be taken to a medical facility if there isn’t one on the premises of the treatment facility.  Medical detox may take up to a week, depending again on what the individual has be using and how much was being used.

Each inpatient treatment center and program will offer a different method of recovery.  There are 12 step programs, Christian programs, work programs and many alternative programs. Whichever program you choose or someone chooses for you, in order to get clean and sober and stay clean and sober, you must be willing to go through the process of coming off the drugs and alcohol and learn how to stay of the drugs and alcohol if you want to live a happy and productive life.
